Who is responsible

The PhotoBook Co. is the data controller for personal data processed through photobook.photo. Contact us at hello@photobook.photo.

What we collect

• Account data — your email address and authentication details when you sign up or sign in.
• Book content — the photos you upload, page order, titles, captions and any AI cover prompts you write.
• Order data — the delivery name and address you give us, order contents, status and delivery updates.
• Technical data — basic log information such as device type, browser and approximate location derived from your IP address, used for security and reliability.

Why we use it

• To create your account and let you sign in (performance of a contract).
• To build, render and print your book and deliver your order (contract).
• To provide customer support and handle reprints or refunds (contract).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
• To meet tax, accounting and other legal duties (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, with providers acting on our instructions: our cloud hosting and database provider, our print production and fulfilment provider (to print and ship your book), delivery carriers, and the AI provider that generates cover artwork when you choose to use that feature. We do not sell your data or your photos, and we do not use your photos to train AI models.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

• Draft books and uploaded photos: while your account is active, until you delete them.
• Order records and invoices: up to 7 years, to meet accounting and tax obligations.
• Account data: deleted within 30 days of you closing your account, except records we must keep by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Email hello@photobook.photo and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK you may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.

Security

Your books and photos are stored in access-controlled storage, transmitted over encrypted connections, and protected by row-level access rules so that only your account can read your content. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. This page describes our practices; it is not an independent audit or certification.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
